The primary liner material (PVC strip) and the outer steel strip (which provides added strength) are fed into a specialized winding machine installed at the bottom of the manhole. The winding machine joins the PVC strip profiles to form a sealed liner, while the steel strip is embedded on the exterior of the liner to reinforce its structural strength.

The machine winds the profiles and steel strips simultaneously

The mechanical spiral-wound liner rehabilitation technology involves assembling a modular winding machine inside the pipeline, then feeding prefabricated PVC-U strip profiles and stainless steel strips into the machine. The machine winds the profiles and steel strips simultaneously as it advances. By interlocking the edges of the profiles, a continuous, high-strength, and watertight steel-plastic reinforced new pipe is formed within the existing pipeline.
