Spiral Wound pipe rehabilitation machinery
Spiral wound pipe rehabilitation equipment
Spiral wound pipe rehabilitation equipment is a system designed for trenchless structural pipe rehabilitation.
Using a specialized winding machine, continuous PVC (or steel-reinforced PVC) profiles are fed into the
existing pipeline through an access manhole. As the machine advances, the profiles are spirally interlocked
to form a continuous new pipe within the original one (a "pipe-in-pipe" configuration). This process restores
or even enhances the pipeline's structural load-bearing capacity without requiring extensive road excavation.
The technology is suitable for various underground pipeline networks, including gravity-flow sanitary sewers,
storm drains, utility tunnels, and industrial drainage pipes.

WHAT IS SPIRAL WOUND LINING TECHNOLOGY?
Spiral Wound Lining technology represents a sophisticated trenchless rehabilitation method that involves the underground assembly of a modular winding machine within the host pipeline. The system utilizes prefabricated PVC-U strip profiles and stainless steel bands, which undergo rigorous quality inspection before being fed into the winding mechanism. The installation process synchronizes the spiral winding of both materials, with the PVC-U profiles' specially designed interlocking edges forming a continuous, structurally independent composite pipe within the existing conduit. Once the liner is installed, high-strength non-shrinkage grouting material is injected into the gap between the original pipeline and the iliner, ensuring a complete seal and enhancing the structural integrity of the new liner. This innovative approach creates a high-strength, watertight steel-reinforced polymer liner that effectively renews the pipeline's structural integrity.
Main Functions
1. Repairing Damaged Pipes
Remedies issues such as:
Cracks,Joint misalignment,Leakage,Corrosion,Aging/Deterioration
2. Creating a New Structural Pipe
Forms a:
Continuous PVC pipe,Structural liner,Fully structural pipe,
Enables the following, depending on design:
Semi-structural repair,Fully-structural repair
Complies with relevant standards for mechanical winding installation.
3. Enhancing Load-Bearing Capacity
The newly formed PVC structural pipe withstands:
Earth pressure,Surface traffic loads,Groundwater pressure,Long-term operational loads
Service life typically exceeds 50 years depending on design and operating conditions.
4. Improving Flow Capacity
The PVC inner wall is:
Smooth,Low-friction,Resistant to scaling/encrustation
Actual flow capacity is often maintained or improved, even with a slight reduction in pipe diameter.
5. Eliminating the Need for Large-Scale Excavation
Installation utilizes:
Manholes,Access shafts
...to complete the repair.
6. Installation with Live Flow Selected Conditions
Certain mechanical winding systems allow for:
Live flow installation,No flow interruption
Reduces or eliminates the need for large-scale flow diversion.

1. Fixed-Head Winding Method
The winding machine remains stationary in the working shaft during operation. As the PVC profile and steel band are spirally wound, the entire newly formed pipe progressively advances along the pipeline's axial direction. This method is particularly suitable for projects with stable working shaft conditions.

2.In addition to standard circular pipes, drainage infrastructure includes various non-standard shapes such as rectangular channels and horseshoe-shaped conduits. To address the rehabilitation of these structures, Qingdao Jinjiedong developed a "self-propelled" mechanical spiral winding process; this utilizes a mobile winding machine that advances through the existing conduit while simultaneously winding the profile strip.
This process is capable of rehabilitating conduits of various shapes—including horseshoe, rectangular, and triangular profiles—with diameters ranging from D1000 to D5000.

Suitable for rehabilitating:
Reinforced Concrete Pipe RCP,Concrete Pipe,Clay Pipe,
Brick Sewer,Cast Iron Pipe,Steel Pipe,HDPE Pipe,PVC Pipe
GRP Pipe,Corrugated Pipe。
How It Works
Working Principle
Step 1
Feed the continuous PVC profile into the equipment.
Step 2
The equipment continuously advances the profile using rollers.
Step 3The profile is spirally wound according to the set pitch.
Step 4
Adjacent interlocking mechanisms automatically engage.
Step 5
A continuous PVC liner pipe is gradually formed.
Step 6
Depending on the method:
Non-grouted Close Fit
The PVC fits tightly against the existing pipe.
Grouted
After forming the new pipe with a fixed diameter, a highly fluid cement-based grout is injected into the annular space between the existing pipe and the new pipe to secure the liner and restore structural integrity.
